Staff and Leader Purpose
The purpose of the staff and leadership is to equip the members of Image Church with resources and opportunities to mobilize their faith in Jesus in practical ways in order to experience God’s transforming power in our own lives and the lives of those around us.
Michael Chaddick – Senior Pastor
Pastor Mike serves as the Senior Pastor of Image Church in San Juan Capistrano, California. Born in Southern California and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mike grew up as a pastor’s kid within the Calvary Chapel movement, immersed in church life and the Scriptures from an early age.
Like many who grow up in the church, Mike walked away from his faith during his teenage years after becoming disillusioned by church politics and hypocrisy. After years of believing that sin could offer something better, he came to experience firsthand the biblical truth that “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). While living in Azusa, California, Mike had a powerful conversion experience in which he sensed God calling him back to Himself. From that moment forward, he developed a deep and lasting passion for studying the Bible, prayer, Christian fellowship, ministry, and—above all—a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Since then, the Lord has opened many doors for Mike to serve in ministry. His experience includes serving as a volunteer youth leader, a ministry intern in both Hawaii and the United Kingdom, a high school Bible teacher, a college professor, and an assistant pastor. He currently serves as Senior Pastor of Image Church and is also a regular guest on the live Southern California radio program Pastors’ Perspective on KWAVE 107.9 FM, airing Mondays at 3:00 p.m. (PT).
Pastor Mike’s formal education includes an A.A. in Liberal Studies from Orange Coast College, a Bachelor of Biblical Studies from Calvary Chapel Bible College, a B.A. in Religion with an emphasis in Christian Ministry and Leadership from Vanguard University, a Master of Theological Studies from Veritas Evangelical Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has also completed additional graduate coursework at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and doctoral coursework at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon.
Outside of ministry, Mike is a longtime fitness enthusiast and is a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach through NASM. He enjoys watching football, baseball, soccer, and mixed martial arts, as well as spending time outdoors with his family.
